The duties of the Alternate Delegate are found in the A.A. Service Manual. The Alternate Delegate shall serve as Intergroup Liaison Officer between the General Service in Area 83 and the four Intergroups in Area 83. The Alternate Delegate shall be the single point of contact and be responsible for all matters relating to Remote Communities initiatives across Area 83, including serving as liaison with other Delegate Areas as required. If for any reason, the Area Chairperson cannot perform his/her duties, the Alternate Delegate shall serve as Area Chairperson.
